Evelyn's Letter from India

A Letter from India

Since the postmen rang at our door this morning, our elephant, Emso, has been very excited. Between all those letters has actually been a long letter from his good friend, Evelyn. He found it right way, due to its big blue date stamp from India and the orange border of little elephants (what, of course, he liked very much!). Now, Emso can't hold himself back any longer and if he could, he would want to tell the whole world about Evelyn.

Many more information about Evelyn and other kids are waiting for you in the booklet DIVERSITY. Eveyln will show us more of her pictures, and tell us about her children's service, her friends, her school and much more. The booklet DIVERSITY can be ordered via E-Mail at info@ems-friends.org.

Emso's Report

Emso: "Oh children, I'm excited! I really just got a letter all the way from India! The letter is from Evelyn. She is a really good friend of Pipit and mine. But since Evelyn lives in India and we don't get to see each other very often, we like to write letters to stay in touch. Sometimes they take a long time to get there, but I feel even happier when a new letter finally arrives. Do you write letters or post cards to your friends?

Evelyn is already 8 years old and goes to school in Chennai in India. She likes going to school, but soon she has to write tests again. That's rather stressful, she says. But anyhow, she still finds time to see her friends and attend the children's service. That's really important to her. In her letter, Evelyn told me that, recently, she's been singing a lot in her children's service and then just couldn't stop and kept dancing and singing in her livening room all evening. I really would have liked to have been there! What I also like about her is that she can already speak different languages and is good at drawing! She even sent me two of her drawings along with the letter - and lots of photos, too! I can't wait to show you all of them!

Yours, Emso."
